CANADIAN COMPANY OFFERS FIRST VIDEO STREAMED LICENSING PROGRAM IN CANADA
ILS Learning Corporation today announced the launch of Canada’s first video-streamed Level 1 Licensing Program.
Company president, Steve Hawrishok, explains: “For years, brokers have been asking me for a video version of the Level 1 Licensing
Course. We went one step further and video-streamed it and posted it to our elearning website at www.ilscorp.com. Now it is available to anyone who has access to an internet connection.”
The online Level 1 Licensing Program combines the dynamic instruction of long-time insurance educator, Todd Hochban, with easyto-
read text. Numerous exercises and sample examinations give students everything they need to successfully challenge the Level 1 Examination in British Columbia.
Mr. Hawrishok said students now have another option when they want to enter the insurance industry. “Up until now, they could either study
for their entry level exam by correspondence, or sign up for a classroom session. With this new streaming video course, students will benefit from having an instructor, yet be able to take the course whenever they want, from wherever it is convenient for them to do so.”
“This is a complete study package at a very competitive price,” Mr. Hawrishok added. “The tuition price of $250 gives students everything
they need to prepare for the examination.” He noted that students would still have to register with the provincial Broker’s Association and pay the applicable examination fee.
While this program is currently only for those wishing to qualify for a Level 1 insurance license in British Columbia, there are plans to develop an entry level licensing course for other provinces as well.
Steve Hawrishok and ILS Learning Corporation have been mainstays in insurance education in Canada. Mr. Hawrishok is the author of the
original CAIB (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) program, as well as the author of The Fundamentals of Insurance, which is used for Level 1 licensing in much of the country. Over the past 35 years, he has taught licensing and continuing education courses to thousands of brokers from all regions in Canada.
In 2000, ILS Learning Corporation became the first independent supplier to offer continuing education courses via the internet from their elearning centre at www.ilscorp.com Today, more than 13,000 brokers are registered to take continuing education courses through ILS.
