Effective immediately, the AIC’s (Alberta Insurance Council) turn-around time commitment for completed and paid license applications and transfers received online will be a response within 3 business days.

Faxed and emailed applications will no longer be accepted.  You must submit online or via Canada Post.

All paper applications will be processed on a best efforts only within 30 days in the order in which they are received.

Effective April 1, paper applications will no longer be accepted or processed and all* license applications must be submitted online.

Application status will not be provided over the phone.

HOW TO PREVENT DELAYS:

A criminal check is required for all new license applications.  If Backcheck is used, be sure to share it with AIC.  If you are obtaining a criminal record check via other means, please ensure you upload a copy of the document with your application.

Payment must be made in order for an application to be processed. If you do not include a cheque with your paper application, within 30 days, you will receive a link via email directing you to our online system to pay the invoice via credit card.
